In the first sight no one can know anything about lawyers.It is very difficult to know how experienced a lawyer is just by asking about fees and expenses. So, How a person can be make right decisions about to make sure that his case is in with the right lawyer?

The Questions given below are important and significant for you. You must ask these questions from your lawyer before you hire them. It is a good idea to just print it out and take it with you when you visit your lawyer. It may help you or someone close in hiring a lawyer.

About the lawyer

1. Can I have a copy of your profile that contains your Bio-data?
2. Can you tell me about your practice as a lawyer?
3. How long is your experience as practicing lawyer?
4. Have you ever handled a case similar to my case? What result did you get?

About Your Case

1. What is your prediction about my case, What are possible results and the chances of success?
2. What are the formalities to fulfill in my case? And a schedule for different steps?
3. In how much time can we get the result (Positive or Negative)?
4. What difficulties can bear in my case? And should I pay for it?

About legal Fees

1. Do you have a formal retainer letter or agreement?
2. How do you charge? By hour, Case, Percentage or by Combination?
3. Do you make any concession in charging the fee for case? If Yes, how much will you charge me?
4. Do you have an assistant who will be helping you while handling my case like junior lawyer or clerks? Do you charge for any other helper?
5. Tell me about  the kind of disbursements?
6. Suppose there are no difficulties in my case, then can you tell me about fees, disbursement, and taxes?
7. When will you charge me?

About the Work on your case

1. How will you keep me up-to-date about my case progress?
2. Will you keep me up-to-date in written format (Sending or Receiving Letters)?
3. Will you return my calls the same day?
4. Will you use Email or fax to contact me?
5. Who else will work on my case? Can I call them if I could not find you?
