« Manchester resident charged with 10th DWI
A man from Manchester, who already had nine previous drunken driving convictions, had his bail doubled this week after he got arrested. According to the police, he was caught after going on a wild, alcohol-fortified ride in a stolen car that ended with his crashing into a tree.

Kerry Persons, aged 58, of 126 Lowell St., has been convicted of 29 crimes throughout New Hampshire since 1977, including eight drunken driving convictions, most recently in Manchester in November 2007.
Moreover, he was previously convicted of drunk driving in another state and was already on parole for crimes in New Hampshire, when he got arrested this week.
According to a police affidavit, he stole a black Jeep Wrangler from Manchester and drove it to Newmarket, where he ran over more than one lawn before crashing into a tree, on Tuesday afternoon.
The affidavit said that Persons was very uncooperative, at the station and even tried to assume a fighting stance with the his belt raised in his hand.
There was a large stretch of time between Persons’ numerous convictions. The interval in between was most probably caused because he was in prison during that time period. Persons was originally held on $10,000 cash bail, which was raised to $20,000 cash during a hearing on Wednesday in Hampton District Court in Seabrook.
The charges on Persons include receiving stolen property for allegedly driving the stolen Jeep, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief for allegedly driving over someone’s lawn, simple assault for allegedly spitting on a policeman, drunk driving, driving with an open container and driving after suspension.
