« Woman Charged with DWI, After Wrecking Car With Baby On Board
A mother in Charlotte was charged with DWI after she clipped a utility pole and shut down a section of Beatties Ford Road.

According to the investigators, the woman who has not yet been identified told the police that she had been drinking before she wrecked the car near Johnson C. Smith University at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Thursday afternoon, the Police said that coordinating the utility repairs was slowing things down and a portion of Beatties Ford Road would be closed through 4 p.m. due to the problem.
The car had the woman and the baby and an officer who witnessed the crash reported finding the baby on the floor of the car. The Police said that The Department of Social Services has been called in to investigate.
According to the eye-witnesses and the Police officers, the woman veered across the centerline, overcorrected, then hit the utility pole. Both the woman and her child were later taken to Carolinas Medical Center for possible injuries.
