« Holiday DUI Arrests Up From Last Year
According to the CHP officials, the California Highway Patrol has made more DUI arrests in the Bay Area and statewide during the holiday enforcement period, till now, as compared to the last year.

So far, the CHP officers in the Bay Area have arrested 39 drivers suspected of driving under the influence, which is quite higher than last year’s total of 24 arrests from 6 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. today, as told by the CHP.
From all over the states, CHP has arrested 246 drivers for allegedly driving under the influence, whereas the agency had arrested 167 drivers last year during the same enforcement period.
However, the good news is that till now, no DUI-related traffic deaths have occurred in the Bay Area in the holiday enforcement period, and there were no fatal crashes involving alcohol during the same time last year.
The holiday enforcement efforts will continue through midnight Sunday.
