« Off-duty Dallas officer shot and wounded a DWI suspect
Police said that on early Sunday morning an off-duty Dallas police opened fire on a drunk driving suspect at a North Dallas apartment complex.

Officer followed the suspect
According to a statement delivered by a police spokesman Sgt. Warren Mitchell, at around 3:30 a.m. the officer was driving her personal vehicle when she spotted the suspect’s vehicle and then she followed it into the Davenport Apartments in the 14500 block of Dallas Parkway.
Officer was not in uniform
Mitchell said that the officer whose name is not known was not in uniform at that time. After the suspect got out of his vehicle she confronted him and then there was a struggle.
Officer opened fire in Self Defense
Mitchell said, that the officer opened fired on the suspect and she fired several times in self-defense, hitting the suspect, whose name was not available early Sunday.
Suspect was taken to Hospital
Mitchell said that the suspect was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital and he was expected to survive his wounds.
The officer also suffered from minor injuries.

I wonder which apartment complex it was. It’s good the guy didn’t die. Hopefully he gets some help and learns his lesson.
