Vehicle confiscation punishment temporarily or permanently for DUI offenders is an opportunity in some states usually for repeat offenders. While in Kentucky this is not a penalty option.
Ignition Interlock
Ignition interlock is a device, which is connected with motor vehicle of the DUI offender so that he/she will do a breath test before starting the vehicle. This penalty for DUI is an option in some states while in Kentucky this is not an option.
Mandatory Alcohol Education and Assessment/Treatment
Alcohol teaching and avoidance program, alcohol abuse treatment, and judgment of a person for possible alcohol or drug obsession can be required for DUI offenders in Kentucky. These steps are often suggested instead of harsh punishments such as imprisonment and paying fines.
