Police had made plan across the country for DUI enforcement on most celebrated adult holiday of the year the Super Bowl Sunday. All states police are planning and announcing DUI checkpoints and putting extra police force on the road. Police officers will be looking for signs of impairment and they are given orders to pull over a vehicle for a minor traffic infraction. Violating signals, having expired driving tags on vehicle or reckless driving are all the major reasons that makes an officer to pull over a car this Sunday.

Some people will be looking for alternate routes to avoid the police checkpoints and it’s not illegal to take a different route. Police checkpoints are typically publicized. But that will not be good for you if you will abruptly change direction while in line of a checkpoint. If you will do so then you will invite police to pull you out from your vehicle.
On Sunday whether you drive through checkpoint or not its better for you to hire a driver for that day. Its best to have driver on such big day when there will be high number of DUI drivers may be on the road.

I agree that people should just stay at home on super bowl night. It will save them the trouble of worrying about the checkpoints and possibly even a car accident.
I am glad that Texas does not believe in DWI checkpoints. We get to avoid these issue for the time being since it was considered last year.
