Law require a suspected DUI drivers to concede to breath, blood, or urine testing for alcohol level are know as “implied consent laws”. Refusal carries penalties including mandatory suspension of a driving license for up to a year.

Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC)
Any driver with blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above 0.08 percent in Iowa will be considered “per se intoxicated” under the law. Under this rule of law, this proof is sufficient for a driver to be convicted of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
Zero Tolerance Blood Alcohol Concentration
Almost all states “zero tolerance” law’s main focus is on the drivers not of legal drinking age. In Iowa, if any driver under the age of 21 will be driving the motor vehicle with blood alcohol concentration of 0.02 percent or above will be subject to DUI penalties.

Police Charged Justice with aggravated DWI »
Pawling – A village justice has been charged with DWI by the police. Since he was driving with a blood-alcohol content above 0.18% following a rear-end collision on Route 22 on Thanksgiving Day.

Robert Apple, 54, was charged with aggravated DWI following a violation.
Justice’s Blood Alcohol Level
Lt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said that generally the aggravated DWI charge applies to those who are accused of driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.18%.
No injuries reported
The accident took place about 2 p.m. near the intersection of East Main Street in the Village of Pawling.

Drive Safe during Holidays »
Alarming news for those who will intake drugs or drinks before starting their journey on New Jersey’s roads can be caught by police for driving under the influence charges.
Police and other Law enforcement agencies of the state will make some complete patrolling and immediate sobriety checkpoints. This all will start from today till 3rd January 2010. This all will start as a part of campaign named as “Over the Limit, Under Arrest”. 
This campaign is an effort to control the raise in drunk driving during holidays that is the busiest time of the year that is Christmas and New Year eve.
This special assignment is funded by the state Division of Highway Traffic Safety. This program for controlling drunk driving under the influence was started in 1999. This division grants $5,000 for this special assignment as a cover to extra work for field sobriety checkpoints and DWI patrols.

Off-Duty Cop Charged with DWI After Crashing Into Toll Plaza »
Yesterday, it has been reported by AP that an off-duty cop was arrested for DWI in Queens. It has been reported that veteran detective James O’Connell was arrested and charged with DWI after he smashed into a tollbooth at the Midtown Tunnel in Queens.

According to reports James was allegedly driving home from a holiday party when he smacked into the lane’s gate arm at the toll plaza around 2 a.m.
Before that he had a holiday party with colleagues in Great Neck.

On Thanksgiving Day a State Police road check on East Main Street in the Town of Wallkill has conducted six DWI arrests for impaired driving.
4 People arrested for DWI
For driving while intoxicated four people were arrested.
These arrested people includes Connie Montez, 21, of Middletown; Matthew Gray, 23, of Middletown; Daniel Marrione, 21, of Warwick; and Jeffrey Chubay, 38, of Goshen.

Los Lunas police officer arrested for DWI »
On early Thanksgiving morning one of the Los Lunas police officer was arrested by Los Lunas police on suspicion of DWI following a single vehicle crash in the village.
Los Lunas police arrested a police offcer
According to Los Lunas police, they have arrested officer Nikki Baca for DWI and released on her own recognizance. Right now she does not have a court date.

Officers responded to a traffic accident that took place on Tondre Road at about 4 a.m. Thursday. It has been found by them that there was a vehicle that had been driven off of the road and struck a fence.
When police arrived the driver, that was later identified as Baca, was in her vehicle. At the time of accident she was off duty and driving her personal vehicle.

New Technology to Fight DUI in Pennsylvania »
Although law enforcement forces are very much successful in catching those who drive under the influence of drug or alcohol in Pennsylvania. Although DUI detection tools are not much available. The Lycoming County DUI Task Force has introduced a new device to catch DUI cases. 
A new device called Pupillometer is being introduced that enable an officer to check a PA DUI suspect for impairment from a written page. This handy device is helpful in finding out the cause for DUI investigation. The device work by scanning the pupils and compare it to a database having more than 3 million images of the drug user. A Drug Recognition Expert certified officer can operate the device well.
