Doctor Arrested Under The New Strict Law »
The first person in the Capital Region to be arrested under the new "Leandra’s Law" , is a Voorheesville woman, who is a doctor by profession.
Dr. Eileen E. Joyce, 52, was asked to pull over by the police at 11:45 p.m. Saturday on Rt. 155 in Guilderland near Farnsworth Middle School, when she was coming back from Proctor’s Theatre. She was driving with a 7-year-old and two other passengers in the car, including the child’s parent.

Drunk driving is not only dangerous to the driver itself but also for other drivers and passengers present on road at the same time. But what can be done to keep your loved ones from driving when they are not in their senses because of having more than 5 or 6 drinks in one sitting.
Here are some useful ways that can be applied to stop them in such risky situation.
Take the Keys
The first thing you can do is to take car keys before serving them alcohol and allow them to go out only if they prove themselves conscious enough to drive a car. If it seems impossible to stay at that place and you also find them unable to drive, take them yourself where they want to go.

The parents of all teenagers must be well aware about the facts of teenage drunk driving statistics not only to protect their teen but to protect all passengers or drivers on the road as well. Showing great excitement and extra enthusiasm after getting a driving license is a part of a teen’s natural behavior. Woman Charged With DUI In Crash »
It has been reported that a 19-year-old Cary woman was charged with aggravated driving, under the influence with reference to a crash that caused injuries to her and two of her passengers.
According to McHenry County sheriff’s police, Kaylee Smith, of 6 Lakewood Drive, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence. The car crash happened on Thursday, in the 7800 block of Barnard Mill Road at 5:53 a.m.
